I think this is more or less a small recall for us all. For those who are not sure why, I am talking about playing Undertale with challenges. In the Neutral ending, there is an instance when Sans congratulates you that you like to challenge yourself, and tell you not to brag about this. For this to happen, here's what you have to do:
- Never take the bandage off (by not equiping any other armors at all)
- Stay at level 1
- Never use consumables
At one point, I've decided to try this one out. And I'm telling you, Asgore's battle would be the closest thing you can get to being forced with the challenge of not getting hit at all.
For no-hit challengers, this is probably no sweat for you, but in general, you only have room for one strike. Without a good armor to mitigate the damage, one hit from Asgore will send you back to 1HP, like what he usually do (I even tried on lv14 - Near Genocide, and his attack eats up half the HP bar, a.k.a more than 20HP). You cannot heal at all, which contributes to why two strikes and you're dead. Worn Dagger would be your best option anyways, because you are trying to avoid getting hit at all cost, and you are trying to end this battle quick.
In my opinion, Asgore's battle under this condition is even harder than Undyne the Undying. While he is relatively easier to dodge than Undyne, his attacks requires skill regardless, and as the battle goes faster, it gets harder and harder to not get hit. Nearly as hard as Sans? Maybe not. In the end, it took me a solid one hour to get past this torturous battle.
