Mettaton, before his quiz show

Metal Crusher is the 50th track in the Undertale Soundtrack. This song plays while battling Mettaton in his box-like form. It is one of the only songs in the game to be completely chiptune, and musically is comparable to Tetris Type A. Its sound design is similar to Jake Kaufman's work on the Game Boy Color, most notably Shantae. Its melody is used in Death by Glamour.

It has bits of another song Toby composed as a fan-made song for the webcomic Cucumber Quest, before the game was released.[1]

Trivia[]

For more information on the audio file, see Grandpasemi.
  • There is an audio file in Undertale titled "grandpasemi.ogg" which is reminiscent of the first few seconds of Metal Crusher.
  • Similar to Sans, Papyrus, and Gaster's names being references to text fonts, “Metal Crusher” is the name of a font.
    • The fact that Metal Crusher is named after this font may be because the font only has capital letters. This might allude to Mettaton's speech in his box-like and NEO forms: capital letters only.

  1. "But originally I made a fan song for your character Noisemaster from your old comic Cucumber Quest. (I was big into making music for web comics back then)... This ended up being partially remade and repurposed as Mettaton's theme..." - Toby Fox
